Behind the name...
Camellia's name represents this flower. Its origins lie in Latin, from shrine maiden.
Her nicknames? Kalei is from Hawaiian, meaning an arrangement of flowers; Kalie means darling, beloved; or slender in Gaelic. Callie means beautiful and lovely, from Greek origins.

Life prior to Rebirth
Years 0 to 11:
Her life before being reborn hadn't been a very happy one. After losing her parents when she was barely a year old, she was handed over to her muggle relatives by Dumbledore, where she suffered prolonged emotional abuse and starvation for nearly ten years. She was not physically abused or raped.
Years 11 to 18:
For seven years, her life was constant struggle against Lord Voldemort and his schemes to get rid of her. Explanations in this regard are not needed. In the end she managed to get rid of the Dark Lord, nearly dying herself.
Love life, 1991-1998:
Since she's a girl, her love life and interests were slightly (but not entirely) different. Her first crush was Cedric Diggory, who secretly had reciprocated her feelings, to an extent. However, before either of them could really even realize anything, his death put a premature end to that.
Distraught by Cedric's death, his girlfriend of the time -- Cho Chang -- sought comfort in Kalie's arms, knowing the two of them had about the same connection as Cho's own. She thought Kalie must feel the same way about Cedric's death, and the two of them could comfort each other till they recover completely. This was not to be, however, as while Cho sought only comfort, she never made that clear to Kalie. Kalie was neither straight, lesbian, or bi-sexual. Her belief was that when you fall for someone, you fall for them. Who or what they are doesn't matter at that point.
Not knowing this, their relationship was doomed from the start. As soon as their first kiss happened, Kalie knew the difference between their motives was vast. Their relationship came to an unexplained and abrupt end. Feeling betrayed, she didn't even explain anything to Cho, and refused to even be friends afterwards. This happened in the years 1995-1996.
From this point on, Kalie lost her interest in love and relationships, instead focusing on more immediate threats of Voldemort and his Death Eaters. Ginny had shown some interest in her, mostly out of hero worship, but Kalie rebuffed each and every attempt, partly because Ginny already had boyfriends all the time, often more than one.
Ron had shown some interest in her during the year 1996, but due to her view of him as a friend (only) as well as Hermione's own interest in Ron, no development happened in this regard.
1998 to 2008:
Right after the battle of Hogwarts, Kalie retreated into what her friends considered self-isolation. The truth was, however, that she was busy furthering the research on time-travel and magical creatures left by Cadmus and Ignotus Peverell. She would not have done this had it not been for the approach of the spirit falsely believed to be Death in some legends, but really just an enslaved creature belonging to the Peverells who only shows itself to those with Peverell blood and the ownership of the three hallows.
She warped to the past soon afterwards.
